Monday Tunes / James Ferraro
Are you at an age where you remember the early 90's (like me)? As a child, did you go to the video rental store to borrow laser discs of early computer animations (like me)? Then you might be reminded of those fantastic & primitive electronic worlds when you listen to James' Ferraro's music.
Enjoy it!

The Big Big City: Chicago !
For the past month Rebecca of BIG THINGS and I have been plotting and planning to bring you The Big Big City: Chicago, a pop up art market! The first stop in a series of year long pop up events going on across the country.
Come join us on February 7th, at Public Works Gallery, right in the heart of Wicker Park and just a few steps off the Damen blue line, for this one night only event, featuring some of Chicago's best artists and designers. There will be a raffle with prizes donated by our vendors, as well as a bakesale and fun drinks with all proceeds to benefit 826 Chi.
We hope you will stop by! Its going to be a bright, warm and fun thing to look forward to in the middle of these grey winter days.
••• Get updates about this event and vendor features through this blog and my twitter and at Rebecca's blog and twitter!

Roll W1102
Last year, I didn't shoot very much film at all. This is strange, since I'm very much a film person. During DH & I's annual visit to upstate New York for the holidays, I decided to leave my digital camera at home and took my trusty pentax 35mm slr. I've always been pretty loyal to pentax for this format and fuji for film.
After about a month, I finally dragged myself to get my rolls developed and picked them up a few days later. I forgot how much like Christmas it is to get your film back from the lab. This was the first roll I shot. The first pictures taken during June and the last pictures in December. Above are a few of my favorites.

Necklace Exchange
Last holiday season, Janette of Fashion Loves People, organized a really fun necklace exchange. Like the secret santa of jewelry pretty - ness! I saw it mentioned by a few people on the tweeters and signed up right away.
This is the piece I made for my recipient -- quartzite, glass and brass beads on leather chord. I was really happy with it so you'll be seeing it at AHC soon!
This is the necklace I received in the mail from Kendra of Life Pastoral and Summer Street Photography! I love how it is beaded and braided and I love the black and gold combo. So perfect for me.
See the rest of the necklaces here.
I'm pretty excited about the next one !
[[ I kept meaning to post about this but after seeing Rebecca's post about it on bigbigbigthings, it kicked my butt into gear! Thanks, RG! ]]

Getting Away
We finally got some snow here in Chicago late last week and by no means was it a ton of snow, but there was enough that I finally felt like winter was here. While the storm was fun and, in a weird way, reassuring, today I'm dreaming about getting away.

You can ready more about it, see more images and purchase it over at 5x7.
Keep your eyes on these guys. Word on the street is that they've got some really amazing stuff coming out this year ...
