Last year, I didn't shoot very much film at all. This is strange, since I'm very much a film person. During DH & I's annual visit to upstate New York for the holidays, I decided to leave my digital camera at home and took my trusty pentax 35mm slr. I've always been pretty loyal to pentax for this format and fuji for film.
After about a month, I finally dragged myself to get my rolls developed and picked them up a few days later. I forgot how much like Christmas it is to get your film back from the lab. This was the first roll I shot. The first pictures taken during June and the last pictures in December. Above are a few of my favorites.
Beautiful photos! I'm in a similar position - didn't shoot a lot of film at all last year but I'm changing that this year!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lauren! I'm glad to hear it. I definitely want to go back to shooting tons of film this year. I think I had been shooting so much film that eventually I could only really afford not great film which made me feel sad. Also digital is so easy and I can blow up my digital files much larger than my 35mm so I kind of fell into that rut. Towards the end of last year, I bought my favorite Fuji Pro 400H and it made me feel happy again.
DeleteMe three. I've already shot 2 rolls this year, need to drag my ass to get them processed. I really love these, and now I really want some Peanut butterrrrr
ReplyDeleteAwesome :) Get them processed and post them on the internet tout de suite!
DeleteSame here! Living in Japan, I've found that film is surprisingly available and affordable. They sell a lot of fun cameras here too. The thing that is NOT so affordable though is the processing. And it's not easy either when I've brought film from overseas to get developed. I think the expense of processing (without even getting prints) has kind of discouraged me here.
