Tom Seidmann-Freud

>

I love these strange, childish illustrations by Tom Seidmann-Freud, niece of Sigmund Freud and an eccentric artist and book author who took her own life. Having just watched "Dangerous Method" (3.75 out of 5 stars), this seems a little more relevant.

Tests for Viral Pet Video 1

I have just begun testing for a viral pet video with Mei as the subject.

Right now, I'm just seeing what she can endure. I started off with a simple wooden spoon. She teased me with a little initial interest and then proceeded to walk away. Next steps are other every day household objects. We will then graduate to fruits and perhaps other cooked human food.

Stay tuned.

Calendrier

A delightful child magic calendar from HNWerkmann. Via Atelier pour enfants.

• In shop matters: There are only 4 calendars left! In a way I am sad to think there will soon be no more of these. What will I do next to fill the void? Hmm..

• I will be doing my last mail run on the 20th of December for the holidays. You may still place orders through the new site but I will not be doing my next mailing until after the New Year. Please take note and get your orders in!

• I hope everyone is enjoying amazing holiday feelings!

The Indestructible Beat of Soweto

Every time DH & I wander into a record store, I make a bee-line to the World/African section. Here is a recent acquisition from our last trip to a record store. The pickings were kind of slim in this area but I came upon this album and was interested. I had never heard anything from Soweto before but the cover was nice and the price was right.

We brought it home, listened to it and were SUPER PLEASED ! The pleasant stylingz of African beats and guitars and strong vocals singing about nice subject matters. For instance, there is a song about the perils of drinking. Another about the importance of education.

And another called "Wakwami: My wife, my love"

I beg you my love, lets talk it over
Because our continuous misunderstandings won't help us
They (the kids) are still small
We must bring them up correctly.

I like this guy!

This weekend: Fenn Fair

I will be selling this Friday through Sunday at Fenn Fair this weekend! Come see me!
